COURSE DESCRIPTION: High Risk Security Operations Course
COURSE DURATION: This course consists of 2 days of training. Training will run 8 hours – from 11 AM – 7 PM on the 2nd Friday and Saturday of January and October.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Advanced firearm skills (handgun/carbine); Arrivals and Departures; GPS navigation (Garmin); Basic land warfare; Understanding motorcade operations; Route selection (Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary); High-risk urban movement; Foreign firearm familiarization; High-risk foot formations; High-risk advances and understanding two-and three-car arrivals and departures; Vehicle evacuations and open-air rescues; Radio procedures; Unarmed combatives; Low-light movements and engagements.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS: Completion of advanced Pistol and Rifle Course or 3-years (or equivalent) of active military service or Certificate from Law Enforcement agency showing state-approved academy completion.
KEEP IN MIND: This is a fast-paced course and if you cannot keep up with the other students in the class then you will be dropped from the course. There are limited spaces available for all GR Tactical courses. All courses, to include this one, are live fire courses.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING: Drivers License or a valid government-issued photo ID; Hearing and Eye protection; Carbine with sling; 300 Rounds of Ammunition for Carbine and 300 Rounds of Ammunition for Pistol; Minimum 3 magazines for Pistol and 2 magazines for Carbine with tactical belt and appropriate holsters; Closed-toed shoes; Water, food, snacks (for duration of course); Must bring your own Tourniquet. Pistol with three high-capacity (15+round) magazines or five lower-capacity (7-8 round) magazines; Carbine with sling and three high-capacity (15+round) magazines; Magazine pouches with the ability to hold at least three magazines for each firearm system on your body at one time; Hearing and eye protection (clear required, tinted recommended); Cover shirt and civilian clothes; Quality drop leg holster with retention ability; Low-profile holster (inside the pants or paddle type); Range uniform (rugged pants and long-sleeve shirt recommended); Soft body armor; GPS (Garmin 60 or equivalent); Small handheld flashlight; Rain and cold-weather gear; No cross-draw holsters; Gear should be tried and tested prior to arrival. For example: Aimpoint or EOTEC sighted-in and mounted to weapon with new batteries; familiar sling system able to manipulate weapon to high or low port; quality footwear already broken in.
ADDITIONAL INFO: GR Tactical utilizes semi-automatic pistols and rifles, however, we offer custom classes on any and all firearms. Shooters who display weapons proficiency will be challenged by the Instructor to increase their skill level by various methods. This will not have an impact on the overall conduct of the class; All instructors are Nationwide Firearms Instructors and are certified.
REFUNDS: Any course cancellation must be done 48 hours in advance of the course. Any cancellation outside of those parameters will be non-refundable. *There is also no refund If the course being taken is the Kentucky Concealed Carry Course and the student does not pass or complete the course for any reason.
FIREARM RENTALS: Pistol and Rifle rentals will be available for rental, but keep in mind that the number available is limited. The cost for rentals is $25 per course.
GEAR SALES: Ear Protection, Eye Protection, and T-Shirts will be available for sale on site. The cost for Ear Protection is $1, Eye Protection is $25, T-Shirts are $30, and Hats are $25.
REQUIREMENTS: Be a Kentucky resident of at least 21 years of age on day of class; Legally capable of possessing a handgun in Kentucky.
